Concept

A signature take on Asian cuisine—without claiming authenticity, but with deep respect for the region’s culinary traditions.

Executive Chef — Ilya Kolesnik.

The third restaurant by Duo Band, following Duo Gastrobar and Tartarbar. Opened in 2017 on Rubinstein Street, St. Petersburg’s renowned dining destination.

The menu reinterprets Japanese, Chinese, and Korean culinary traditions with Latin American and Middle Eastern influences. Ilya travels extensively throughout Asia, bringing back not clichés, but firsthand experience with local ingredients, techniques, and flavors.

The interior is minimalist and monochrome, featuring calligraphy by Pokras Lampas. At the heart of the dining room is the open kitchen, where the guests' attention naturally comes to rest.

Ilya Kolesnik

Executive Chef, Duo Asia

Ilya discovered his passion for gastronomy during his first year at university, spending countless hours watching Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver before experimenting in the kitchen himself. His first professional role was at the Georgian restaurant Kazbegi, then located in Golitsyn Loft on the Fontanka River. Three years later, the same owners opened Le Courage, a Russian-French restaurant, where Ilya joined as sous-chef. After a year and a half, feeling he had reached a professional plateau, he decided to continue his culinary education at SVCH.

After graduating, Ilya sought new opportunities and reached out to Dmitry Blinov. He was soon invited to intern at Duo Asia, where he stayed and built his career. Today, Ilya leads the kitchen at Duo Asia, creates new dishes, and experiments with bold flavor combinations. In December 2025, he launched the restaurant's first-ever tasting menu.
